Installing Samsung ML-1210 Laser Printer to Mac OS X

For OSX 10.8.2

1. Install Samsung-GDI
2. Install Foomatic-RIP
3. Install Ghostscript

This is essential otherwise the pages won't print correctly.

Scroll down the page and select the relevant printer. Click the link.

Link takes you to openprinting.org

Download the PPD file and store it on your harddrive where it can be accessed by the Printer Setup Utilty in system preferences.

I don't know if it it OK to delete the file after installation, so I am leaving it there.

Connect up the printer over USB

Click Add

Select Add Printer or Scanner

Select Samsung ML-1210

We are going to override the default driver shown in the 'Use' box.

Click 'Use' and then 'Other'

Find and click on the PPD file you downloaded and saved.

Job done
